1. Parallel blade slitting machine. The two blades of this type of shear are parallel to each other. It is generally used to shear the initial billet (square, billet) and other square and rectangular cross-section slabs horizontally, so it is also called a slab shear. This type of shear sometimes also uses two forming blades to cold shear the ingot (such as round tubes and small and medium-sized garden steel, etc.), and the shape of the blade edge is consistent with the cross-section of the ingot being sheared.

2. Inclined blade slitting machine. The two blades of this type of shear are inclined on the upper blade and horizontal on the lower blade, which are at a certain angle to each other. The slope of the upper blade is 1°~6°. This type of shear is commonly used for cold and hot shearing of thick steel plates, hot-rolled strip steel, thin billets and welded steel pipe billets. Sometimes it is also used to shear a whole bundle of small and medium-sized stainless steel plates.

When cold rolling empty window material, the inclined blade shearing machine is often used to shear the head and tail of the hot-rolled strip (when the hot-rolled strip is not cut at the head and tail) so as to weld the large coil of hot-rolled strip.

The inclined blade shearing machine makes the upper blade inclined and the lower blade horizontal. Its purpose is to reduce the shearing contact length with the sheared piece, thereby reducing the shearing force, reducing the volume of the shearing machine, and simplifying the structure. The basic parameters of the inclined blade shearing machine are: maximum shearing force, blade inclination, blade length and shearing frequency. These main parameters are determined according to the size and physical properties of the ingot.
