Classification of diesel generator sets in use
Diesel generator set is a kind of energy conversion equipment, which converts chemical energy into thermal energy and then into mechanical energy and finally converts it into the required electrical energy. Fuel is its raw material, and electrical energy is its product. Diesel generator sets are divided into backup power supply, self-provided power supply and emergency power supply in terms of use.
Backup power is also called emergency power. The main purpose is that some units already have a stable power supply, but in order to prevent unexpected situations, such as circuit failure or temporary power outage due to force majeure, the self-provided power supply is still used for emergency power generation. Use units include: telecommunications industry, banks, airports, command centers, data centers, highways, high-grade hotels, office buildings, hospitals, etc.
Self-provided power supply: Some power consumption units do not have grid power supply, such as islands, remote rural areas, pastoral areas, barracks, workstations, and radar stations in desert plateaus. Diesel generators are the first choice for self-provided power when the electrical power is not too large.
Emergency power supply: A mobile power supply is a power generation facility that has no fixed place of use and is transferred everywhere. Diesel generator sets have become the first choice for mobile power sources due to their lightness, flexibility and ease of operation. There are self-powered vehicles, as well as trailers and trailers. Most of the user units have the nature of mobile work, such as emergency communications, oilfields, geological exploration, field operations, and engineering rescue.
