Green hydrogen projects will usher in a wave of construction, driving a surge in demand for hydrogen production equipment.
The green hydrogen projects that "ran into the market" in 2023 will usher in a wave of construction starts in 2024,
prompting the hydrogen energy industry to enter an explosive period.
Statistics show that from January to December 2023, a total of 19 green hydrogen projects with electrolyzers have
been publicly tendered in China, and the total electrolyser tender volume reached 1882MW, close to 2GW,
doubling year-on-year. Sinolink Securities analysis said that considering that the national plan is to achieve an
annual output of 100,000 tons to 200,000 tons of green hydrogen fuel in 2025, and a total of 1 million tons of green
hydrogen production capacity in various regions, green hydrogen projects will usher in a wave of construction in
2024, driving hydrogen production. The demand for equipment is increasing rapidly, and it is optimistically
expected that the domestic electrolyzer bidding volume will double to 4GW in 2024 year-on-year.
"With the doubling of electrolyser bidding volume for green hydrogen projects in 2023, the hydrogen energy
industry has reached a new starting point." Zhu Keli, executive director of the China Information Association and
founding director of the Guoyan New Economic Research Institute, told a reporter from Securities Daily He said
that driven by the cost reduction of wind and solar hydrogen storage equipment and policy support, the
development momentum of green hydrogen is strong.
