Notes on CNC roll grinding machines
(1) Operation should pay close attention to the contact condition of the grinding wheel and the workpiece surface. When the surface of the workpiece is just in contact with the grinding wheel, a continuous sizzling sound can be heard, and the water on the surface of the workpiece can be taken away by the rotating grinding wheel, while a faint spark can be seen, at which time the coolant can be added. The coolant should be used with a slightly higher concentration of saponified liquid, and must be strictly clean and filtered before use. Then feed the wheel with 0.005mm per double stroke. When the spark disappears, the grinding is finished. At this time, press the lateral feed handwheel in the direction of feed, so that the grinding wheel is slightly pressed into the workpiece, but no feed is made, which is equivalent to polishing the workpiece once to further improve the grinding surface quality.
2) When grinding in high ambient temperature (e.g. summer), the machine tool lighting should not be close to the workpiece to prevent the workpiece from heat expansion and affect the grinding quality.
3) If the surface of the workpiece is stretched, the coolant is not clean or there is floating sand on the surface of the grinding wheel, so filter the coolant again or brush off the floating sand on the surface of the grinding wheel.
4) If the workpiece is partially burned, it may be caused by insufficient coolant or excessive feed, or dulling of the grinding wheel.
5) If the surface of the workpiece after processing appears fine ripples locally, it may be caused by the spindle loosening, motor vibration or other reasons, which can be solved by taking corresponding measures according to the specific situation.
