Our country ranks first in the world in terms of number of hydrogen refueling stations
Since 2023, the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments have continued to introduce policies to support the development of the domestic hydrogen energy industry. As of now, the number of domestic hydrogen refueling stations ranks first in the world, and domestic long-distance hydrogen transmission pipelines are being planned and constructed.
At present, the hydrogen energy industry in the three major regions of the Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and Bohai Rim is showing a trend of cluster development. In terms of technological innovation of hydrogen energy, water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment, storage and transportation equipment and fuel cells, our country has mastered a number of advanced technologies, and high-end equipment is gradually being introduced to the market.
More than one-third of central enterprises are already laying out the entire industrial chain including hydrogen production, hydrogen storage, hydrogenation, and hydrogen use, accelerating the breakthrough of key materials and core technology equipment bottlenecks in the entire hydrogen energy industry chain. Domestic hydrogen energy accounts for about 80% of hydrogen used in chemical industries such as synthetic ammonia and methanol. In 2022, synthetic ammonia will account for approximately 31% of total hydrogen consumption. It is expected that after this part of hydrogen is completely replaced by green hydrogen in the future, annual carbon emissions can be reduced by more than 200 million tons.
